The popular Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver will be closed for two months due to construction work, according to the District of North Vancouver.
On Thursday, the district said that the construction would begin on Oct. 1 and is expected to wrap up in the middle of December.
The district says that Lynn Canyon Park will remain open for the duration of construction, but there will be periodic closures of trails near the suspension bridge and the east parking lot as a result.
Its online statement announcing the suspension bridge closure notes that the nearby Pipeline and Twin Falls bridges, both located within Lynn Canyon Park, will remain open throughout the construction period.
"The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge will be closed for construction on the bridge's east approach boardwalk and staircase, which have reached end of life and need to be replaced," the district says in its update.
